Can I have aesthetic treatments while using my prescription treatment?

There are many aesthetic treatments and procedures available that you may be interested in or already do regularly. Always disclose the prescription products you are using to the professional administering the treatment or procedure so that they can give you proper guidance. It is important to follow their expert advice on their treatment or procedure.

If your Serum-in-a-Cream or Nightly-Active-Treatment contains tretinoin, we recommend:

Facial laser

Stop using your prescription skincare 5-7 days before your appointment and reintroduce it back into your routine when your skin has completely healed.

Botox

Do not apply your prescription skincare on the same evening as your treatment. You may restart the following evening.

Lip fillers

Do not apply your prescription skincare on the same evening as your treatment. You may restart the following evening.

Sunbeds

Due to the risk of cancer, we would never recommend using sunbeds. Ingredients such as tretinoin can make skin more UV sensitive and increase the chances of burning. We advise regular SPF use as an integral step in protecting your skin.

Waxing or other forms of facial hair removal

We would advise against waxing the face and neck. Waxing can be harsh on the skin and can result in the removal of some superficial skin cells. This can sometimes result in a burn-like appearance and can lead to some temporary pigment changes in the skin.

We would also advise against hair removal creams (depilatory creams) as the chemicals contained could result in skin irritation.

For hair removal alternatives, you could consider threading, plucking and laser hair removal, which are gentler and pose a minimal risk of skin reaction.
